Sulemana Braimah
Sulemana is currently the Deputy Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), a regional independent freedom of expression and media development organisation based in Accra, Ghana. The MFWA is one of the most influential, respected and foremost freedom of expression organisations in the world. The organisation works in all the 16 countries in the West African Region, and has on a number of occasions worked in other parts of Africa .
He currently serves on the 12-member Governing Council of the Canada-based International Freedom of Expression Exchange (IFEX). IFEX is the global umbrella body of 88 freedom of expression organisations worldwide.
He holds an M. Phil Degree in Communication Studies and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (Sociology with Philosophy) from the University of Ghana. He has vast experience in Journalism, Strategic Marketing Communications, Public Relations.
He has successfully consulted in Public Relations, Media Relations, communication skills Training, and Communication strategy Design for a number of top politicians, ministries and private organisations. For seven years, he worked with one of Ghana's biggest newspapers, The Chronicle as a journalist and was at one time, the paper's News Editor.
He worked with Choice FM in Ghana as Show Host of a popular Political Discussion Programme: "Face the Nation," which featured government ministers, policy analysts and top politicians for discussions and debates on key issues of national development. Sulemana also taught Mass Communication and Public Relations at the African University College of Communication in Ghana.
He is interested in: Mass Media and Development, Strategic Marketing Communications and Public Relations. He is available to offer valuable services to individuals and organisations in any of these areas.
